Verdant Estates
overview
Verdant Estates designs and maintains private gardens across the home counties. Their old site ran on a bloated page builder: pages took over six seconds to load and online enquiries kept dropping off. I rebuilt the whole platform as a custom build with a searchable plant catalogue, availability calendar and a streamlined quote flow.
challenge
The studio needed three things that rarely coexist: rich photography, instant search across two thousand plants, and a booking flow simple enough for customers in their seventies. The legacy CMS also had to keep running during the transition so no seasonal bookings were lost.
approach
I modelled plants, projects and appointments as structured content, built a server-rendered catalogue with instant faceted search, and designed the quote flow as three short steps with progress saved at each stage. Images are resized and lazy-loaded, and the appointment calendar syncs with the studio diary.
